Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic Sales leader to join our team.  The Sales Manager position will manage the IDC-Automatic Sales Department and drive sales revenue through the development of business relationships, customer retention, cold calling, lead generation and qualification, targeted marketing, sales goal achievement and delivering a high level of customer service.
IDC-Automatic Garage Doors is one of the largest install, service and wood garage door manufacturers in the Twin Cities. The position will be located in Coon Rapids, MN.
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales, Account and Performance Development
  • Drive business development with new and assigned accounts to identify, prioritize and secure garage door business.
  • Engage prospects and position through strategic value-based selling and ROI analysis.
  • Establish and create rapport with key influencers in order to support revenue and sales.
  • Act as a brand ambassador always seizing opportunities to increase IDC visibility in the market.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of sales presentations to ensure message is portrayed to prospects and customers consistently.
  • Host monthly plant tours for customers or prospects to highlight IDC capabilities.
  • Prospect and secure new project RFP opportunities. 
  • Manage the process and strategy to achieve progressive annual sales growth and margin/profit growth with specific customers.
  • Initiate and participate in the negotiation of key account contract agreements.
  • Lead internal coordination of all customer projects and initiatives.
  • Manage programs to improve low performing products and pricing.
  • Monitor retention of key accounts to ensure profitability and a positive customer experience through strategic planning and value based selling.
  • Ensure consistent sales methodologies are utilized by Sales team.
  • Train, coach and mentor Sales Representatives. 
Territory Management and Strategic Planning
  • Monitor market and analyze data to ensure efforts are focused on opportunities that fit the Company’s strategies and objectives.
  • Develop and execute an account acquisition strategy to achieve Company revenue goals.
  • Execute business/sales plans and manage accounts and prospects effectively.
  • Utilize CRM for quoting and warranty tracking, customer profiles and other tools to properly provide accurate, up-to-date information with regard to customer, activities, marketing initiatives and sales opportunities. 
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with customers to achieve profitable CLV by engaging internal resources (Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Management, etc.) as necessary to support customer needs.
  • Attend trade shows, educational conferences and customer meetings and conferences.
  • Review and refine sales goals/targets annually with management to collaborate on strategic decisions based on analysis of results and prioritization of opportunities.
  • Participate in monthly Company and departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with Director to assign territories to Sales Representatives.
  • Document details, analysis and action items resulting from customer visits and meetings using established report tools.
  • Provide detailed analysis and action items using customer feedback on won or lost quotes to help further refine IDC strategies and tactics.
  • Prepare and submit monthly report detailing sales volume, potential sales, and targets for sales growth. 
  • Communicate with other functional areas, including but not limited to Supply Chain, Production, Field Service and Management to ensure sales objectives compliment Company goals and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Update internal scorecard and meet established monthly goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, coaching and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintaining confidentiality; timekeeping.  Challenges others to develop as leaders, while serving as a role model and mentor.
Summary of Skill, Competency, and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of Industrial, Manufacturing or Construction industry sales experience required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience, preferably in Sales, required. 
  • Proficient computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  CRM and/or ERP experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience reading blueprints required.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization, time management and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to successfully work independently and in a team environment.  Strong relationship building skills required. 
  • Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making in emotional, difficult, and stressful situations.
  • Ability to write professional correspondence and reports. Ability to effectively prepare and coordinate proposals, conduct presentations and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.
  • Strong customer service (internal and external) focus.
