1) What is your job title?
Designer and Co-Owner of White Birch Design LLC

2) What do you do for your company?
Steve McDonald and I co-founded White Birch Design in 2018.  Since then, we've grown to a company of seven. In addition to running the day-to-day business with Steve, I also handle the design for each of the projects we take on. This includes everything from concept to finishes and execution!

3) Do you hold any NARI certifications? (note: we would love to profile women with certifications)
 I currently hold a CKBR

4) How do you use your previous experience and/or education to do your job?
I've worked in the remodeling industry since 2010 and have a degree in Architecture and Interior Design.  I began my career selling plumbing, tile, and countertops before moving into the design + planning side for remodel projects. I love bringing my experience in both the technical and design realm into every project we complete as I feel it provides our clients with a carefully and thoroughly planned design. While newly graduated professionals always want a design job right out of college, I think working on the technical side helped make me a stronger designer. I really pride myself on space planning, making sure a new kitchen or bathroom functions better than what a client currently has, even if we aren’t changing the layout or taking down walls.

5) What do you love about remodeling?
I love to create new spaces that function well and are beautiful!  The process of helping homeowners make decisions on what their space is going to look like is such a fun and rewarding process. I can’t help but get excited when beginning the design process with a homeowner. And of course, the reaction we receive when things start to come together at the end of a project is the moment that makes it all worthwhile. 😊
